SimplyFire - Passive Fire Protection
Passive Fire Protection attempts to contain fires or slow the spread, through use of fire-resistant walls, floors, and doors.
A fire separation is defined in the Building Code as any building element which separates firecells, or firecells and safe paths, and provides a specific fire resistance rating. When these cells or safe paths have penetrations (pipework, cables ,ducting etc) penetrating them the fire resistance rating of that wall has been compromised.
Passive Fire Protection is ensuring that the penetrations are sealed correctly with the right products and the original Fire Rating of the wall (30 min, 1 hr, 2 hr etc) is reinstated.
These separations form part of the building compliance schedule and are required to be checked on a regular basis.
At Simplyfire we utilise the experience of various suppliers and ensure our staff are trained and up to date with the installation practises of their products. Our installers take pride in their work and we ensure that all completion documentation is presented to clients to ensure sign-off.
